Hello and welcome! I am VeVe Lane, and this is the handy page
on my website that tells you what I'm all about. I'm 26 years old;
I'm a transplant from small town Indiana to the big city of NYC;
I talk too loudly and too much; and when people aren't calling me
crazy they're at least calling me odd. I love and do many things in
life, but looming large and dear for me is wrestling. Also, this is my
wrestling website, so that's what you'll predominantly be hearing
about.
I am a submission grappler and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner.
I started training informally in no-gi submission grappling in May '06,
and I began formally studying BJJ at my current academy in October of '07.
Before all that, I was a runner and did six years of cross country back in my school days, which may account for
why I prefer grappling to freestyle or pin wrestling. I don't like the
idea of sport where you can lose simply by being held in one place for
a period of time. I like contests of patience, endurance, grit, and
determination. I love toughing it out for the come-back. I love
that in submission fighting, the loser must acknowledge defeat
by tapping out.
I train three or four times per week. I hit the gym another three times
per week. And I'm constantly under attack from like-minded friends who
think that grappling is standard social interaction. I was recently
promoted to blue belt at my academy. I'm on a mission to see how far
I can go with this.
I am a tournament fighter.
